Task Force Detainees of the Philippines (TFDP) celebrated the International Human Rights day 2011 in December 9 at the 70’s Bistro, Anonas, Quezon City. The celebration was a Night of Memories about the heroism of human rights defenders and peoples’ victory against Martial Law and combined with the creativity of the new generation through photography, poetry, music, dances and videos.
The Night was the culmination of a Four-Month long festival entitled Beinte Singko: Festival of Memories, Creation of New Stories that went around different campuses in Metro Manila. It aimed to help raise awareness among the youth about human rights through exhibits (online and in campuses) of 25 photos and poems coming from TFDP’s Museum of Courage and Resistance and 25 finalists of Tinamaan ka ng Lente! 2011 and Berso sa Kalsada, Tula ng Paglaya. It was also composed of several forums and film showings in campuses organized through Youth for Rights (Y4R).
It was also a night to remember for the human rights community since for the first time from a very long time Gary Granada, Noel Cabangon, Cookie Chua and Bayang Barrios shared the stage for human rights celebration.
The event was also highlighted by performances from Miko Pepito, Tondo Tribe, Ka Levy Balgos De La Cruz, Samahan ng mga Anak ng Desaparecidos (SAD) and the Collective Arts of Students and Thespians (CAST) of University of Makati.
Beinte Singko was co-sponsored by the Philippine Alliance of Human Rights Advocates (PAHRA), Alyansa Tigil Mina (ATM), Asian Federation Against Enforced Disappearance (AFAD) and Families of Victims of Involuntary Disappearance (FIND).

Tinamaan ka ng Lente, is a project of TFDP in partnership with the Center for Social Action of College of Saint Benilde. It is now on its second year.
Beinte Singko through the poetry writing contest “Berso sa Kalsada, Tula ng Paglaya” also exhibited 25 poems composed by students, human rights defenders and political prisoners.
Both contests awarded its Peoples’ choice Award based on the online polling in the Task Force Detainees of the Philippines Facebook page.
